Who am I?
I'm Tonya Anderson, a volleyball mom with a passion for photography, sports, digital products, pop culture, and social media.
I’m a lifelong memory-maker, turned freelance photo taker with a passion for capturing the energy and emotion of club volleyball.
For over 20 years, I’ve been the go-to photographer for family and friends’ events—birthdays, graduations, senior pictures, sporting events, weddings and backyard moments included. What's always been a hobby has grown into something more: a way to freeze time, tell stories, and celebrate the people we love.
These days, you’ll find me courtside at volleyball tournaments, camera in hand, catching the grit, grace, and joy of the game. I shoot while cheering on my daughter, blending my roles as mom and photographer in the most rewarding way.
Whether you're a parent wanting to relive the match or a player looking for that perfect action shot for your social media, I’ll be available at tournaments throughout the Midwest to help you capture those moments.

What is 'It's Tonya Actually' all about?
It’s Tonya Actually is my platform where I bring all of my passions together, with Shot by Tonya being the first. I'll be soon expanding into t-shirts, apparel, parent/player journals, as well as other digital and media products.
I’m launching The Real Moms of Volleyball podcast for the next club season. It will be a space to connect with current and former volleyball parents, coaches, and recruiters who are open to sharing their journeys, celebrating players, and having honest, meaningful conversations.
